Regional Activities - Click for local events

Depending on your particularly interests there are plenty of activities in the local area.

Camiran is on the River Dropt, and just 10 minutes away is the Bastide town of Monsegur, well known for its summer jazz festival held in July every year, further along the river is Duras, followed by Eymet - all of which hold at least weekly farmers markets and include bustling evening markets which offer local food, crafts and entertainment.

The principal town 5 kilometres to the south is La Reole, which sits on the banks of the Garonne River, and has a good selection of restaurants, and a busy commercial centre including our local supermarkets.

To the north of us, about 20 minutes is the Dordogne River, and just over the river is the beautiful town of St Emilion, well worth a visit. Along the river are restaurants and canoeing stations.

At both Blasimon and Fontet, 10 minutes away, both offer swimming lakes, which are shallow and well supervised, particularly good for young children. Both have pleasant walking path either surrounding the lake, or along the nearby canal (Fontet).

The historic city of Bordeaux is approx 45 minutes drive away and no visit to the area is complete without a trip to not only sample its superb restaurants and have a shopping fix but also to view its magnificent architecture.

For those more active there is:

Cycling - local lanes are very quiet, also for the active a 55km cycle track from Sauveterre-de-Guyenne to Bordeaux through the countryside following a disused railway track!
Golf -four eighteen hole courses, plus one nine hole course within 45 minutes.
Canoeing - Both the Dordogne, the Ciron and the Garonne offer canoeing.
Walking - Numerous walking trails, and riverside paths to follow.
Horse Riding - Available nearby at our village riding stables.
